The Apache Shiro team is proud to announce the 1.3.0 release. This is the first feature release in a few years, and we’re really excited about it.

The 1.3.0 release contains 12 bug fixes, 8 improvements, and 4 new features. A large number of commits in this release came from the community, probably the most community contributions in any release so far!

  • Hazelcast-based Cache Manager
  • A new Event Bus module for publishing and low-coupling of custom components
  • Improved extension points in EnvironmentLoader
  • The ability to configure basic authentication for specific HTTP methods

If you are new to Apache Shiro please take a look at one of the tutorials.

As always, you can download Apache Shiro from, or directly from Maven Central.
